Socket Family of Products

The Socket SoMo Handheld Computer – The Socket SoMo handheld computer delivers industrial grade performance in a durable business mobile sized package, making essential Business Mobility solutions possible and affordable. The Socket mobile business computer addresses the underserved market segment that exists between the consumer and industrial mobile PDAs currently on the market. The Socket SoMo, combined with Socket peripherals, provides a Business Mobility system for essential business solutions that include healthcare, automotive, hospitality, life sciences, retail, government/education and transportation/logistics. Runs Windows Mobile 6, choice of multiple languages and anti-microbial case available.

Data Collection – Socket Data Collection products include linear and 2D bar code scanning and RFID solutions that plug into or connect wirelessly over Bluetooth to a wide range of mobile devices and convert mobile devices into portable bar code scanners, magnetic stripe or RFID readers that can be used in various retail and other business workplaces. Anti-microbial cases are available for use in health care environments. With the introduction of iOS4 by Apple Computer, Socket now offers 2D bar code scanning and low cost laser scanners for use with the iPad, iPhone, and iTouch. Socket’s high performance bar code scanners are lightweight, durable and compact and designed for use with a wide range of computing devices running a variety of operating systems.

OEM products and services – Socket focuses on embedding Bluetooth and Wireless LAN modules and cards into third party mobile devices. These Socket modules include Socket’s extensive software suites and tools enabling computer device manufacturers to build in wireless connection functions. Socket will also customize its handheld computers and data collection products for use in third party products. Socket’s Wireless LAN modules and cards include Wi-Fi Companion, a software suite that makes management of a wireless LAN environment easy and includes CCX 4.0, Cisco’s security firewall software for secured wireless communications.

Recent Events

• November –Socket’s SoMo® 650Rx antimicrobial handheld computer selected by Australia-based aged care software provider WeCare Australia as their platform for their next generation deployment of electronic point-of-care management systems.

• October – Socket enters into definitive agreement for a $1 million convertible note financing to use proceeds to increase the Company’s working capital balances.

• October – Socket announces availability of SocketScan™ 10, an updated version of Socket’s popular SocketScan keyboard wedge software.

• October – Menusoft Systems Corp., developers of Digital Dining restaurant management and Point-of-Sale (POS) software systems, selects Socket’s SoMo handheld computer as one of their recommended devices for use with their Handheld POS solution.

• September – Lancaster Health Group, a Chicago-based residential long-term care provider, selects Socket’s SoMo antimicrobial handheld computers for Point-of-Care documentations.

• August – Socket partners with Zebra Technologies, a global leader in specialty printing and automatic identification solutions, to provide a complete handheld computing and mobile printing solution to the hospitality industry.
