William W. Smith, Jr.

William W. Smith, Jr.President & Chief Executive Officer
Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Smith co-founded the Company and has served as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer since its inception in 1982. Mr. Smith was employed by Rockwell International Corporation in a variety of technical and management positions from 1975 to 1984. Mr. Smith served with Xerox Data Systems from 1972 to 1975 and RCA Computer Systems Division from 1969 to 1972 in mainframe sales and pre-sale technical roles. Mr. Smith received a B.A. in Business Administration from Grove City College.


Andrew C. Schmidt

Andrew C. SchmidtChief Financial Officer

Mr. Schmidt joined the Company in June 2005 and serves as the Company's Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Smith Micro, Mr. Schmidt was the Chief Financial Officer of Genius Products, Inc., a publicly traded entertainment company since August 2004. From April 2003 to June 2004, he was Vice President (Finance) and acting Chief Accounting Officer of Peregrine Systems, Inc., a publicly held provider of enterprise level software then in chapter 11 reorganization. From July 2000 to January 2003, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc., a publicly traded provider of console video game accessories. He holds a B.B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.S. in Accountancy from San Diego State University.


David P. Sperling

David P. SperlingChief Technical Officer

Mr. Sperling joined the Company in April 1989 and has been the Company's Director of Software Engineering since April 1992. He assumed the Chief Technology Officer position in September 1999. Mr. Sperling began his professional career as a software engineer at the Company and currently has three patents pending for various telephony and Internet technologies. Mr. Sperling holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.


Robert Elliott

Robert ElliottChief Marketing Officer

Mr. Elliott joined the company in May of 1999 and soon after was appointed General Manager of Smith Micro's Mac Division then later as Vice President of Corporate Marketing which he has held to date. Experienced technology and marketing leader with over fifteen years of executive level experience managing business units in the information technology industry. He began his career and has held executive management positions with Informix Software, DataStorm Technologies and QuarterDeck Corporation. Mr. Elliott is a graduate of Northwood University, Midland, MI.


Tom Matthews

Senior Vice President
Corporate Development & Strategy

Tom Matthews serves as the Company's Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy. Mr. Matthews is responsible for directing and developing growth strategies for the Company. He is also responsible for identifying, evaluating and coordinating merger and acquisition activity, intellectual property licensing and strategic partnerships. Prior to this, Mr. Matthews served as the General Manager for Smith Micro's Connectivity and Security division, the Company's largest business unit.

Mr. Matthews joined the Company in February 2007 with the acquisition of Ecutel Systems where he served as the President and CEO of this leading provider of Mobile VPN and wireless security software. As President and CEO of Inciscent, he created and launched "SkyBox Mail," the first wireless e-mail application to allow users to open and view their file attachments on handheld mobile devices. Mr. Matthews has served in several executive roles at Metrocall, the nation's second largest wireless messaging operator, as Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Development, Senior Vice President of Operations and President at Metrocall.net where he was responsible for corporate strategy, M&A, operations, sales and marketing.

Mr. Matthews earned a degree in Electronic Communications from Western Illinois University. He has spent much of his career in the wireless industry serving in numerous leadership positions within Wireless Operators and Software companies and is a wireless industry expert and frequent speaker at technology forums and seminars.


Von Cameron

Executive Vice President
World Wide Sales

Mr. Cameron serves as the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales. In his position, he is responsible for the Company's software product sales to Wireless Carriers, OEM's, Enterprises and Consumers worldwide. He is a recognized sales leader with over 23 years of experience working in the telecommunications industry creating value, building successful sales and business development operations and driving new customer acquisition. Mr. Cameron has held executive management positions with Openwave, Oracle, FoxT and Booz Allen & Hamilton. Each of these firms possess a global list of customers where Mr. Cameron has helped them repeatedly achieve successful growth. Mr. Cameron has a strong leadership style with a strong focus on customer satisfaction as the key to his success. Having extensive experience within the wireless industry, Mr. Cameron has a unique blend of experience selling high value "solutions" directly to Communication Service Providers, Network Equipment Providers, Enterprises, Systems Integrators and Device Manufacturers.

Mr. Cameron served proudly in the United States Air Force and earned Bachelors in Math–Operations Research from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado, Springs, CO and an MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA.


W. Rick Wyand

Wireless Telecom & OEM, America

Mr. Wyand joined the company in 1999 when Smith Micro acquired STF Technologies when Mr. Wyand was President and CEO. As General Manager he ran the Macintosh division sales, marketing, and engineering and customer support efforts. Later that year, Mr. Wyand moved into the newly created Wireless and Broadband division as General Manager and later as Vice President of Wireless and OEM Sales. In July 2007, Mr. Wyand was promoted to Senior Vice President of Wireless Telecom & OEM with responsibilities for the Americas. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Wyand was President/CEO of STF Technologies. From 1984 to 1995, Mr. Wyand held various interim management and consulting positions. From 1977 to 1984, he held various positions with United Telecom Computer Group. From 1973 to 1977, he was a Consultant with Arthur Young & Co. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and with a MBA from Rockhurst College.


Matthew Barlow

Vice President Sales
Wireless Telecom & OEM, Asia Pacific

Mr. Barlow is the Vice President of Sales - Asia Pacific for the Company. In his role, he is responsible for business development and sales management of all wireless telecom operators, OEMs and developing strategic industry relationships within the vibrant Asia Pacific region.

Mathew Barlow has over 20 years experience in IT sales, marketing and senior management positions both within Australia and internationally, he has founded a number of businesses and received industry awards for software publishing and technology distribution. Mathew's high level of experience in international business development and sales management has been accredited to his successes with companies such as Village Roadshow New Media (ASX:VRL), Future Vision Multimedia and while General Manager of The Learning Company (NYSE) Japanese subsidiary based in Tokyo. He has also served as Vice President Sales at USA electronic publishing company Versaware Inc, and was a founding member and responsible for export development at Australia's high profile consumer brand, Nudie.

Mr. Barlow holds a Diploma in Management from Macquarie University, Sydney and a Masters of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Sydney.


Jeff Costello

Mr. Costello is responsible for all consumer channel sales. He brings 19 years of technology sales experience and over 10 years of sales management experience to the company. In that time, he has delivered over $800 million in product sales. Prior to joining Smith Micro, he served as Executive Vice President of Sales for Riverdeep, Interactive, where he ran the Retail, OEM and Book Divisions and was responsible for $100+ million in annual revenues. He started in the computer software industry in 1994 with The Software Toolworks where he held the positions of Regional Manager, Director and Regional Vice President, before being acquired by Riverdeep Interactive. Mr. Costello graduated in 1984 from Southwest Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in Management & Marketing.


Jonathan Kahn

Business Operations

Mr. Kahn is responsible for the long-term direction of Allume Systems and overseeing the day-to-day operations with a focus on marketing, product development and sales. Prior to Allume's acquisition by Smith Micro, Mr Kahn was President of the company. Mr. Kahn was one of the co-founders of Aladdin Systems, Inc. which later became Allume Systems. Mr Kahn was Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Monterey Bay Tech, Inc (OTC BB:MBYI), a public company from 1999 to May 2005 until its merger with SecureLogic Inc. Mr Kahn is a member of the Digital River Advisory Board and is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a B.A. in Economics.


Biju Nair

Senior Vice President & General Manager
Connectivity and Security Group

Biju Nair serves as the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Smith Micro's Connectivity and Security Group - the world's largest supplier of secure connection management software to wireless service providers and F100 enterprise companies.

Prior to being acquired by Smith Micro Software, Mr. Nair served as the Corporate Vice President and General Manager for PCTEL's Mobility Solutions Group (MSG). Mr. Nair also served as the Manager for Global Software Products at Agilent Technologies in which he was responsible for software products for RF Planning, Design, Frequency planning, Data Analysis and Remote Data Analysis. He was also the Vice President and General Manager of Software Products at SAFCO Technologies, Inc, where he helped grow SAFCO to become a leader in the telecom software space.

Mr. Nair holds a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an advanced degree in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Mr. Nair has published numerous articles in Industry and technical publications and speaks frequently at industry forums and holds patents in the wireless telecom and electronics domains.


Patrick Lilley

Vice President & General Manager
Device Solutions Group

Patrick Lilley has joined the company as Vice President & General Manager of the Device Solutions Group.

In this position, Lilley manages the continued growth of Smith Micro's device management, IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), and compression solutions portfolio to ensure that the company continues to deliver innovative products that address current and future needs of customers in wireless and fixed line telecommunications, mobile device, automotive, IP-enabled consumer electronics, satellite radio, and machine-to-machine markets.

Lilley joins Smith Micro from DATAllegro, where he served as Vice President of Operations. A seasoned technology executive with over 20 years of experience in accelerating business models and improving revenue growth and profitability, Lilley has served as CEO of Deep Six Technologies and Digital Transit, which merged with Bitfone (subsequently purchased by HP), and holds nine patents applicable to mobile phone, enterprise, and carrier-class solutions.

Patrick's 20 plus years of experience in mobility and enterprise software markets makes him an enormous asset to the Mobile Device Management Group and Smith Micro's leadership team. With Patrick's strong background and experience, Smith Micro is well positioned to capitalize on these emerging opportunities, drive industry trends and grow market share in the Device Solutions space.


Mark Leitch

Vice President & General Manager
Consumer Group

Mr. Leitch is responsible for the long-term direction of Smith Micro Software's Consumer Group, and oversees the day-to-day operations with a focus on marketing, product development, sales and acquisition for the Company.

Mr Leitch brings over 18 years of technology and software experience to the company. Prior to Smith Micro, Mr. Leitch served Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at e frontier America. In addition, Mr Leitch served as Vice President of Sales at Allume Systems and Aladdin Systems for 9 years where he was responsible for the worldwide sales for the company.

Mr Leitch graduated from Washington State University in 1981 with a Bachelors of Science degree, and completed a Masters of Science degree from the University of California at Riverside in 1986.


Chris Lippincott

Mr. Lippincott joined the company in 1993 as a senior sales representative and later holding several sales positions. In 1998 he was appointed Director of North American Sales and in 2000 named General Manager of the Internet Solutions Division, then later as Vice President of Internet Software and Services Sales. Prior to joining Smith Micro, Mr. Lippincott held several retail sales positions. He attended the University of California at Berkeley majoring in business administration.


David Przeracki

Vice President
Registered In-House Counsel

Mr. Przeracki joined the Company in March 2007 as its chief legal counsel. His career in technology law spans over 18 years. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Przeracki was Vice President & General Counsel for System Management ARTS, Inc. (SMARTS), the global leader in network and applications management software solutions (later sold to EMC). Prior to SMARTS, Mr. Przeracki served as Vice President & General Counsel for the leading remote device management software company, XcelleNet, Inc. He also served in legal leadership roles in Dallas, Texas and Paris, France for Sterling Commerce, and was associated with Mills, Presby & Associates, LLP in commercial transactions, commercial law and litigation. Career highlights include being named "Employee of the Year" at Sterling Commerce, authoring legal articles on international law, and serving as lead attorney on a nationally recognized pro bono case. Mr. Przeracki holds a J.D. (cum laude) from Cleveland State University, a Certificate of Law from University of Tokyo Law, a B.A. (cum laude) from Wittenberg University and a Certificate of International Business from Universite d'Aix-Marseille, France.


Ed Johnson

Vice President
Human Resources

Ed Johnson brings more than 35 years of HR and management experience to the role of Vice President, Human Resources, with global responsibility for HR. In this role, Ed will develop and drive the human capital development and optimization processes for SMSI's global workforce.

Prior to joining SMSI, Ed was VPHR for Newegg.com, and prior to that, for Quest Software. Prior HR executive roles were held with Solectron, Merisel, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Symbol Technologies, Sargent Controls, Rockwell Semiconductor Products, Getty Oil, and Western Gear.

Ed has a BA and MBA from CSULB, and has also been a part-time instructor in Human Resource Management in the degree program at CSULB.

Ed has long been active in professional and civic organizations, and serves on the Boards of the PIHRA Foundation, and the Orange County Chapter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). He has previously served on the Boards of HREN (Human Resource Executive Network), on the Board and Executive Committee of PIHRA (Professionals in Human Resources Association), and with local units of BSA and YMCA. He is an active member of PIHRA, SHRM, HR Strategy Forum, and NHRA.
