Simtek Corporation Announces Addition to Management Team: Hires Andrew Broom as Vice President of Engineering
Former AMI Semiconductor Executive Brings Strong Background in Product Development and Design Team Management
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Simtek Corporation (NASDAQ:SMTK - News), the inventor, pioneer, and world’s leading supplier of nonvolatile static random access memory (nvSRAM) integrated circuits, today announced that Andrew Broom has been hired as Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Broom joins the company from AMI Semiconductor where he was vice president of product development.
Mr. Broom will report directly to Simtek’s President and CEO, Harold Blomquist, and will be responsible for consolidated engineering on a global basis.
“Andy’s experience as a leader of complex global engineering teams, coupled with a diverse range of design engineering and management experience, will enable him to contribute immediately to Simtek’s growth plans,” commented Simtek’s President and CEO, Harold Blomquist. “At his former companies, Andy participated in developing hundreds of different integrated circuits, including digital and complex analog design and test engineering disciplines. Mr. Broom brings over 20 years of experience in design and product engineering, coming to Simtek from AMI Semiconductor where he held a number of executive positions. Prior to that, Mr. Broom held various engineering and management positions at LSI Logic, Crosspoint Solutions, and OM Associates. Mr. Broom started his career at VLSI Technology. He earned his degree in electrical engineering at Texas A&M University.
